
After marinating chicken legs in liquid seasoning bake and serve them as a hot appetizer.
Combine salt, Maggi seasoning and lemon juice. Pour over chicken legs. Place chicken in a freezer bag and toss to make sure marinade is evenly spread. Marinate overnight in refrigerator. In a large heavy pan, heat canola oil over medium heat. Dredge chicken legs in flour, shake off excess flour. Fry chicken pieces in hot oil just until lightly browned and crispy. Drain well in strainer, then on paper towels. Preheat oven to 350*F. Combine ketchup and black pepper in a bowl. Roll and coat each piece of chicken in the ketchup mixture. Arrange in baking dish. Sprinkle grated cheese evenly over the chicken. Bake 20-25 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
Notes:
Chicken may be fried, coated and baked without cheese for 20 minutes, until cooked. Just before serving, add the cheese and broil quickly.
