If you have never tried homemade beef jerky, maybe it's time you did. It is chewy, peppery, and salty to the taste.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs of lean meat
  • 1 tbsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of onion pepper
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp of pepper
  • 1/3 c. of Worchestershire sauce
  • 1/4 c. of soy sauce

Method

Trim meat into thin strips. Combine ingredients and pour on meat. Let stand over night. Put meat on wire racks in oven. Heat oven to 150 degrees. Place a wooden spoon in the door of oven to keep slightly ajar. Cook for at least 5 hours. Place in Tupperware container and keep in cool place.

Notes: This is so good! You can also use deer or elk meat.

Number of Servings: 6-8
