Bread & Butter Pickles

These classic bread and butter pickles go well with your favorite burgers, and they make great appetizers.
Ingredients
- 7 1/2 lbs (12 medium) cucumbers (not too large) Slice very thin
- Syrup
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 2 Cups White Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. Whole mustard seed
- 1 Tsp. Whole Celery Seed
- 1/2 lb (3 med.) sliced onions
- 1 Tsp. whole black pepper
- 1 Tsp. salt
- 1 Tsp. Ground Ginger
- 1 Tsp. Ground Tumeric

Method
Put cucumbers (drained) into canning kettle with with all syrup ingredients. Stir to dissolve sugar. Cook over high heat until boiling (takes about 10 minutes). Fill sterilized pint jars. Spoon any bubbles out and clean tops of jars. Seal with boiling lids and let sit until sealed.
