Caramel Corn

Caramel corn that can be made at home; it will go quickly, so be ready to make more. Try adding some peanuts for some extra texture.
 

Ingredients

  • 8 Qt. Popped Popcorn
  • Boil for 5 Minutes:
  • 1 C. Butter
  • 2 C. Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 C. White Karo Syrup
  • Add to boiled mixture when it is done:
  • 1/4 ts. Salt
  • 1/4 ts. Soda
  • 1/8 ts. Cream of Tarter

Method

Mix butter, brown, and syrup in sauce pan. Bring to boil for five minutes. Mix in salt, soda, and cream of tartar. Pour over popcorn and mix until well covered. Bake at 200 for 1 hour on several well greased or sprayed cookie sheets. Cool. Store in airtight containers.

 

Notes: This is the best recipe I have ever found for carmel corn. Perfect for the fall season. One batch is never enough in my house.
