Cheesey Bean Dip

This dip starts with a layer of cooked ground beef, onion, garlic and salsa in the bottom of a large baking dish, then adds layers of refried beans, black beans, dollops of cream cheese, and shredded cheddar.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 15-oz. can of black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 31-oz. can refried beans
  • 2 pkgs. (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese

Method

Preheat oven to 300. Brown ground beef, chopped onions, and crushed garlic; drain fat. Add salt, pepper, and salsa; stir together. Place meat mixture in bottom of 13x9 baking dish. Spread refried beans on top of meat. Add black bean layer. Next, using a large spoon, drop cream cheese on top to cover black bean layer. Sprinkle shredded cheese over all. Cover with foil and bake 30-40 minutes until heated thru.

 

Notes: Serve as a dip with tortilla chips, or spread onto tortilla shells and eat like a burrito.
