Are any of you sadly disapointed as myself that they no longer make the frozen Indian Trails Cranberry Orange Sauce? If so, here is a good substitute. A fruity blend of cranberries, oranges and sugar (could also use splenda or any sugar substitute that is the one to one equivelant of sugar). Best if made several days in advance so flavors can develop. This recipe will make way more than you need for the Cherry gelatin recipe (10 oz) but you will have enough for the rest of the year.

  • Prep Time: 10 min, maybe
  • Cook Time: 1 hr to dissolve sugar
  • Total Time: 1 hr 10 min.

Ingredients:

4 cup Cranberries
2 Good Quality Seedless Oranges, cut into 16 wedges. peel and pulp (the whole orange
2 cup Sugar

Directions:

1. Put cranberries and oranges in food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Or can use a food grinder.

2. Place cranberry/orange mixture into large bowl and add sugar.

3. Mix well.

4. When sugar is dissolved (1 hr or so) *pack in containers to freeze.

*Note: You may want to drain most of the juice off before packing and freezing. Especially if you are going to make the Indian Trail Cranberry Orange with Cherry Gelatin recipe which I have posted under my profile.
