Cream Cheese Appetizer Roll

This cheese ball is flavored with sharp white cheddar, English walnuts, garlic and chili powder. A great make ahead appetizer.

Ingredients:

• 3 oz package chilled cream cheese
• 3 oz good quality sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded
• 2 Tbsp English walnuts
• 1 clove garlic
• Dash of salt
• 3/4 tsp chili powder (mild, medium or hot to taste)

Method

Put cheeses, nuts, and peeled garlic through a food chopper. Add salt and knead cheese until smooth. Shape into a neat roll about 7 inches long. Sift chili powder on waxed paper, place cheese roll on chili powder and roll it back and forth to coat the cheese. Roll paper around cheese roll, tuck in ends, and store in refrigerator to ripen.

Notes: Serve, thinly sliced, next to rows of crackers or toast, on attractive platter.
