This fruit salad is really a everything but the kitchen sink salad, but those are the best. Make this salad to your own preferences and enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 jicama, cubed
  • 1 Gala apple, cubed
  • 3/4 cup dried sweet cranberries or cherries
  • 2 1/2 cups seedless red grapes, halved
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • Dressing:
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar, strawberry flavored tastes best
  • Dash of cinnamon

Method

Toss all fruit items, except lime, in a large bowl. Squeeze lime over salad. Mix sour cream and powdered sugar in separate bowl. You may add a little sugar at a time to determine how sweet you would like your dressing. Add cinnamon and toss salad with dressing and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Notes: This salad was created in hopes I could find something good to do with jicama. This salad is perfect for the "throw it together" person. I rummaged my kitchen for the additional items, knowing apples, dried cranberries, and walnuts go well together. None of the above ingredients have to be an exact measurement, its really all preference. The dressing I chose goes well, but I'm sure other fruit salad dressings will work well too.
