Italian Dipping Sauce


A fast dipping sauce with lots of fresh Italian flavors. And so much healthier than butter.



Ingredients:

  • Loaf of ciabatta bread, cut into 1" cubes)
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp fresh herb of choice (chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Method

Smash garlic with a heavy pan or the side of a large knife and remove skins. Put peeled garlic into a shallow bowl and add remaining ingredients. Do not stir (you want the oil and vinegar to form pretty layers.) Serve immediately.

Notes: My family likes this with robust Italian food such as spaghetti or roasted stuffed peppers.
