Marinaded Shrimp revised

This shrimp recipe is great as an appetizer at a larger gathering. Wine, celery seeds, and Worcestershire add flavor to the marinade.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 lbs cooked, peeled and deveined large shrimp.
  • 1 large sweet onion thinly sliced
  • Marinade ingredients:
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 cups Salad Oil
  • 1 4-oz bottle capers (undrained)
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons celery seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Worchestershire sauce
  • 1 or 2 dashes bottled hot pepper sauce
  • Salt and Pepper to tase
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine

Method

Layer shrimp and sliced onion in large bowl. Combine marinade ingredients. Pour marinade over layered shrimp and onion and refrigerate overnight. Drain before serving.

Notes: The marinade and onion go well together to compliment the taste of the shrimp. The longer it marinades the better it is. Serve and get ready for a real treat.

Number of servings: 12
