Oven Caramel Corn

Fresh popcorn made with a crunchy caramel coating and peanuts. A perfect snack to eat while watching a movie.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 6 qts popped corn
  • peanuts, shelled (optional)

Method

Combine brown sugar, margarine, syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, cook at boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add soda. Pour over popped corn and toss gently. Bake at 200F for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. If peanuts are desired, add to the popped corn prior to pouring heated mixture over it.
