This fresh salsa makes a great topping for chicken, seafood or a big bowl of crisp chips.

  • Servings: 12-14


12 Large Roma Tomatoes, seeded and finely chopped
1 Large Red Onion, finely chopped
1 bunch Cilantro, finely chopped leaves
3 cloves Garlic; Pressed, minced or very finely chopped
6 Serrano Chilies or 2 Jalapenos; Seeded, inner membrane removed and finely chopped, or to taste
2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Juice From 1-2 Limes, to taste
3 Medium Avocados; Peeled, seeded and small dice
2 stalks Celery, finely chopped
1 Sweet Red, green, yellow or orange bell pepper, finely chopped
Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper, to taste


Mix tomatoes, onions, cilantro, garlic, celery, sweet pepper, chilies, olive oil, lime juice and avocados together in a large nonreactive glass bowl. Adjust seasonings with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Helpful Tips:

Let the flavors come together at room temperature for about 1 hour. Refrigerate for 12 hours if you want the flavors to blend further. Serve with chips, fish, and seafood or anything you like.
