Spinach Dip

This spinach dip appetizer is served in a round bread bowl with torn bread for dippers. The dip itself containes frozen spinach, mayonnaise, sour cream, bacon pieces and green onion.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 10 oz. pkgs. frozen chopped spinach
  • 1 can water chestnuts, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup bacon bits
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 bunch green onions, thinly sliced
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • One round loaf French or Hawaiian bread

Method

Thaw and drain the spinach very well. Put in bowl and mix with rest of the ingredients, except bread. To make the bread bowl, pinch out a cavity in the loaf by removing bite size pieces of bread. Place the chunks of bread around the loaf on a platter; put spinach dip in the cavity of the bread and serve.

 

Notes: This is a big hit at every party I've ever made it for and everyone always wants the recipe. So I would suggest to have the recipe on hand so you can share it.
