- Servings: 2 dozen
|¼ cup||Dry Bread Crumbs|
|2 Tbsp||Butter, melted|
|8 oz||Cream Cheese, softened|
|¼ cup||Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese|
|Red & Yellow Food Coloring|
|½ cup||Grated Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese|
|2 Tbsp||Black Sesame Seeds|
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine bread crumbs and butter in a small bowl until well mixed then set aside.
Beat cream cheese, egg and Parmesan cheese together until smooth. Add a few drops of red and yellow food coloring then mix until desired shade of orange is reached. Fold cheddar cheese, sesame seeds, salt and pepper into cream cheese mixture. Add bread crumb mixture and mix until well combined. It should be a fairly stiff dough. If mixture seems too wet, add more breadcrumbs. Roll 1 tbsp of mixture at a time into small balls. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake 20 minutes or until golden.
These are great while still slightly warm. For a spookier, and more adult variation, top each ball before baking with a slice of black olive and a caper or pimiento in the middle to resemble an eyeball
