Tangy Nachos Ole

These tangy nachos are great for the big game and are sure to go fast. This recipe doesn't include any meat, so feel free to add your own.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, peeled, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded, minced
  • 1 cup canned diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chili seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 pkg (7 oz.) restaurant-style tortilla chips
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded provolone
  • 3/4 cup black beans, rinsed, drained
  • 3 ounces crumbled feta cheese
 
Method

Heat olive oil in 2 quart saucepan. Add onion, garlic and peppers. Cook 2-3 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, brown sugar, chili seasoning, allspice and cinnamon. Bring mixture to boil, and then reduce to simmer for 3 minutes. Remove pan from heat. Stir in chocolate chips till melted and blended. Arrange tortilla chips on baking sheet. Sprinkle with provolone cheese. Spoon black beans over provolone and chips. Top with sauce, then crumbled feta cheese. Bake in 350 degrees oven till provolone cheese is melted and sauce is bubbly. Serve immediately.
